Okay, Karl Lagerfeld isn’t leaving Chanel. And it is official. Not that the recently appointed Commander of the French Légion d’Honneur needs to disprove anything, yet, according to Vogue UK, a spokesperson for Chanel apparently came out to say that “Karl Lagerfeld is the creative designer of Chanel and has a long-term contract with the company. Replacing him is not an issue.”
Not only is Mr Lagerfeld not planning to do less work, he’s taking on more. He has confirmed to news media that, come next spring, he will put together a one-shot collection for Hogan, the shoe label owned by Tod’s Group. This, I am sure, won’t be H&M part II! But can I really be sure? Like some of you, I am only a bearer of news.
