RS + FP = A1

Check those roomy pants! They’re the capacious cousins of the anorexic jeans now seen on so many limbs in Bangkok. These trousers by Raf Simons for Fred Perry are just right at a time when too many grown men are looking like underfed teenagers with carrot-like legs.

Raf Simons’s collaboration with Fred Perry first appeared at Blackjack two seasons ago. Polos dominated (they were re-proportioned to match the Simons aesthetics). Now, to mark the 100th year of Fred Perry, Mr Simons have created a collection of separates that recall the early years of his eponymous brand.

I like not only the roominess but also the deep double pleats of the trousers. It’s old world, of course, and the wearer risk being called “uncle”.  That’s fine by me because when it comes to describing my legs, I prefer daikon to carrot!

No news yet from Blackjack if the Raf Simons and Fred Perry Centenary Outfit Collaboration will be available any time soon.
