While many luxury brands are embracing digital technology for a strong web presence so as not to be left behind, the house of Chanel is going the old-fashioned way. Out soon will be 31 Rue Cambon, a paper-and-ink publication produced by the team behind the Purple titles, and art directed by Purple Fashion‘s editor-in-chief Olivier Zahm. Apparently, the magazine will be available in Chanel shops worldwide. No word yet if it’s for sale or distributed free.
Eager and impatient, I stepped into the Chanel boutique at Siam Paragon this evening to inquire about the magazine. The staff looked at me as if I had asked for No. 5-scented baby wipes.
